Biography

My name is Christophe Van Biesen and I am a professional photographer based in Luxembourg. I specialise mainly in natural and urban landscapes, photographing the Grand-Duchy's capital city and its countryside. For several years, I have been concentrating in particular on the changing seasons. Immortalising typical views using a unique angle and light has become the unmistakable characteristic of my photographic style. This is how the Seasons of Luxembourg Art Collection came to life. The photographs that are part of this series have been exhibited on multiple occasions in various venues, such as the European Investment Bank and the Cercle Munster, to cite but a few. Over 300 artworks have been acquired by private collectors as well as Luxembourgish and international companies. Furthermore a part of the collection has also been acquired by the Banque et Caisse d’Epargne de l’Etat Luxembourg for a permanent exhibition in the ARBED building, 19 Liberté, in Luxembourg City.

In 2019 I had the incredible opportunity to create my largest exhibition to date at the Contemporary Art Gallery “Am Tunnel”. “Home and Away - Landscapes by Christophe Van Biesen” collects over 130 images from Luxembourg as well as from my many travels around the world. The varied aesthetic of these landscapes aims to highlight our planet’s diversity and beauty: from the vast landscapes of the North American continent to Asian megacities, via Iceland, France, Italy and numerous other destinations; without of course forgetting Belgium, my birthplace.

My work has led me to collaborate with a range of different clients in Luxembourg. I mainly work on commissioned projects related to architecture and landscape photography projects, while also creating art displays and exhibitions for local companies’ office spaces. I also offer licensing for a majority of my portfolio and run an online shop selling a range of items related to my landscape photography. Since 2016 I have also been teaching landscape and travel photography, offering individual photography lessons as well as group workshops.
